Wintering Habitats
 February 25, 2005 - Since 2000, every February, two hundred students have taken a cruise up the Connecticut River to see wintering bald eagles in their natural habitat. In 2005, it was no different. This year the passenger list was again led by students from inner-city Newark, NJ; additionally, students from the Sussex County School of Technology joined the event.
Studying migrating animals including birds of prey, students launched their Signals of Spring investigations with the most exciting field trip anywhere. Carolyn Sior, a teacher on the 2005 boat made her second trip. "Our students have a wonderful opportunity to make connections between our curriculum, and real-life animal migrations, out on this beautiful river."
